One of a roulette betting strategy typically used is called the Martingale system. This system can also be used on continuous bets of equivalent probability. Now, we’ll explain playing the roulette split bets using the Martingale System.
Doubling your bets with each red for the next spin is the basic essence of Martingale betting. Put $4 on red if you lose again. Stop this doubling of bets until you haven win. With regards to the above bets, if you had won on the third spin when you bet $4. Overall you won $4 and have lost $3 ($1 on the first spin and $2 on the second spin). In the end u still have a profit of $1.
The best part of the Martingale System is that you can still profit from it even after you have lost more than 50% of the time. With the example shown above, we had lost 2 out of 3 spins. We would have loss $1 instead of a $1 profit if we had made three $1 bets instead of using the Martingale System. This playing that is against the house's edge is calculated based on the repeats of the same amount of bets.
There is danger when you run into freak streaks rather than in the long run probability of the split bets. Over many spins a wheel can go black red black red all the way with neither color coming twice in a row. Hence, the Martingale system would work optimally.
But there is also a possibility that the first 50 spins are all black and the following 50 are all red. You will come out with a profit even with this freak show if you had an infinite bankroll. But the truth is that we do not have an infinite bankroll and at some time later will reach the casino’s betting cap. Both these factors are against the Martingale strategy. Over the long run, both spin histories will be in line with black/red coming up about 50/50. But in the Martingale System would have several problems if it is like the latter example. Neither of the examples shown is likely and there will be something in between.
The Martingale System is well-known and really works because the probability seeing a streak will decrease as the size of the streak increases. The probability of seeing black twice in a row is approximately 1 in 4 (0.5*0.5) and the probability of seeing black thrice in a row is approximately 1 in 8 (0.5*0.5*0.5) and the probability of seeing black six times in a row is approximately 1 in 64 (0.5*0.5*0.5*0.5*0.5*0.5). Hence, if red is on a streak and you had been betting on black, the odds of the streak of reds will keep falling with every spin.
As every seasoned gambler knows, there will surely be times when you are very unlucky and haven many bad runs when u can do nothing about it. You must still be cautious when using the Martingale system, do not be overconfident. Regardless, the Martingale system can greatly increase your chance of success when compared to just placing your bets randomly.

Firefox 3's Awesome Bar is not Awesome at All
I've been supporting Firefox since the beginning... But after FF3 is released, I'm really disappointed. I though everything was right, like faster loading speed, higher security. But NO! There is one thing among all the improvements that make it sucks, it is none other than the 'Revolutionary Smart Location Bar / Awesome Bar'.
So why does it sucks?
1.The location bar AUTOMATICALLY display all my bookmarks.
2. I can't clear the location bar unless I DELETE all my bookmarks.
3. Automatically displays website I have visited, even though i did no enter in the location bar.
What problems does it led to?
1. Do you know how many 'special' sites i have in my bookmarks? They have been hiding in my bookmarks folder all these years. But now they just popping out of my location bar!!! All my Dark Secrets will be revealed if my friends or family see how special those sites are in my location bar!
2. Hiding the 'special' sites from my location bar by sacrificing my collection of bookmarks? NO WAY! It would also be way troublesome if i saved all my bookmarks in notepad and delete it in my bookmarks folder.
3. Yes I've visited the some sites, but it doesn't mean I'll be going there again. So normally go to sites through Google rather than typing it in my location bar. But now, it saved that URL into my location bar even though I did not type it in! WTF is wrong??? All those 'sites' that I've visited keep POPPING out!
Disappointed, I decided to ask my friend for help before downgrading it back to version 2. After he heard this piece of shit news, he was HOT. The 'google' in him just snapped, and he found the solution.
Solution 1
By using an extension called 'Hide Unvisited 3'
It hide pages (bookmarks) that you haven't visited from showing in the AwesomeBar. This is for users that don't want to see any bookmarks showing up unless they've used the bookmark since deleting certain pages/sites or clearing the history.

So after reading the reviews I installed this extension, then cleared my private data. With a blink of eye the AWESOME BAR was finally empty. Overjoyed, i continue surfing my net. But to my horror, it STILL records the pages I've visited in the location bar!!!!
